Strobe Antumbra

The performance Strobe Antumbra is based on a transcription of a radio show from BBC radio London broadcast in April 2003. In that show, the leader of UFO cult called Cosmic People, gave instruction how to get in contact with extraterrestrial beings.
Namely, one should perform an invocation ritual in front of a TV set every Sunday at 9 PM.
Conducted research about the content of the TV program on different national TV stations on that particular hour, showed that in 85 % of the cases, the content can be divided into three categories:
1 News
2 Film
3 Reality Shows

Baring in mind these three groups, for the performance were developed three different dance routines corresponding to each TV category.
The focus point is the renewed relation to the media, namely shift of roles between the television receiver and the spectator.
Instead passively receiving informations from the TV, like in many tele-evangelist programs, the spectator is sending information to the TV.
